Retreats & Support
A spiritual and emotional journey open to all
Rachel’s Vineyard Retreats offer a beautiful opportunity for healing to anyone who has struggled with the emotional or spiritual pain of abortion.
Forgiveness and healing, including the Catholic sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, are at the heart of these Retreats and they are open to everyone – those of any faith or denomination, as well as those with no formal faith connection.
Spiritually directed exercises focus on God’s forgiveness, compassion and mercy. These help participants acknowledge and work through all their feelings related to the losses around their abortion and come to a new experience of peace and reconciliation.
New Zealand Retreats
Each Retreat Weekend begins on Friday evening with a light meal and concludes on Sunday afternoon.
Retreats are held in two locations – depending on the availability of each Retreat Centre. Participants each have their own room and Retreat weekends include all meals and accommodation. Facilities at both centres are superb – comfortable and completely private.
Wellington: Our Lady’s Home of Compassion, Island Bay, is close to the airport and has been recently refurbished. The area of the Guest House where Rachel’s Vineyard Retreats are held, is closed to other guests for the weekend.
Rural Wairarapa: The Magnificat Retreat Centre is approximately 1.5 hours from Wellington in a spacious rural setting. Transport to and from the Retreat Centre can be arranged, including pick-up from airport, rail or inter-island ferries.
Please talk to the Retreat Coordinator about your travel arrangements before booking any tickets. Thank you!
